Best Organic Vegan Protein Powder-Plant Based

Organic Protein – Plant Based Protein Powder

I really never have been a fan of any kind of protein powders due to the taste and consistency.Best Organic Vegan Protein Powder From my experience most protein powders use a fake sweetener that doesn’t taste good and leaves a chalky after taste in your mouth. We have been following a Vegan diet for the past 6 months and although we didn’t feel we were lacking protein, we still wanted something to mix in with our smoothies and wanted the Best Organic Vegan Protein Powder we could find.

My sister recommended we try Orgain Organic Protein in creamy chocolate fudge because it is Vegan, Dairy, Soy and Gluten Free.

What Is The Best Organic Protein?

Vegan protein powder is a great way to supplement your existing vegan or vegetarian diet to get the best balance of nutrition. The best organic vegan protein powder contains quality amino acids and plant based nutrients that your body uses to maintain optimum health.

Most Vegans look for products that have sustainability and lack of animal cruelty as important factors in their choice of protein powders. For those that want only Organic and Non-GMO verified products, Orgain Organic Protein makes sure that your supplements are as natural and wholesome as your diet. Finding products that are truly Vegan isn’t always easy—but with Orgain you can always rest assured that your Vegan standards are never compromised!

Why A Plant Based Protein Powder Is Better

Commercial animal based products almost always contain antibiotics, hormones, unlisted chemicals and often raised and slaughtered in unsanitary conditions. People choosing to eat only plant-based foods can often avoid unnecessary exposure to some of the commercial food industry’s worst practices.

A Vegan protein powder offers certainty for those looking to maintain the best overall health. Pure Non-GMO Organic plant based products provide that certainty, while completely avoiding animal products. For those dedicated to a healthy Vegan lifestyle, high-quality protein can be an essential ingredient to one’s daily diet.

How Vegan Differs From Vegatarian Protein Powder

Orgain Organic Protein Powder For most, the difference between Vegan and Vegetarian protein powders might be hard to notice. With deceptive practices and fancy wording, it can sometimes be almost impossible to know which use animal by-products or actual animals.

While almost all protein powders are Vegetarian, there are some that are made exclusively from animal protein. Two of the most popular types of protein powders that aren’t Vegan but Vegetarian are Whey protein powder and Egg White protein powder.

Beware when it comes to labeling, as many Vegan protein powder products contain strains of probiotics like Lactobacillus which is derived from dairy cows, yet still labeled as Vegan

Best Organic Vegan Protein Powder

Since my sister recommended Orgain Protein Powder, she was nice enough to buy us the Creamy Chocolate Fudge to try. I am really glad she did because the taste is amazing and not at all chalky and has a great flavor and consistency. We usually mix the powder into smoothies but when I am short on time I like to mix it with just Almond or Cashew milk in a shaker bottle and it blends nicely.

I also like the fact that the founder Andrew Abraham has a high commitment to clean nutrition making this one of the best and my favorite protein powders available.

I have some vegan protein shake mix sitting in my cupboard, but it’s horrible. That’s why it continues to sit in my cupboard. I have not tried this Orgain Protein powder, and chocolate fudge sounds quite delish. I am dairy intollerant, so any protein powder that is based on whey, makes my sinuses flare up. Do you have an ingredient list for this protein powder?  I’d be willing to try this if it tasted great and was dairy free..

Hey Madeleine, I agree about some Vegan protein shakes a few are truly horrible lol. We must have tried the same one. Here is the product description:

“Orgain Organic Creamy Chocolate Fudge Protein Powder is a naturally smooth and delicious nourishment drink with 21 grams of organic protein and 5 grams of organic fiber per serving. Each serving is USDA organic, gluten free, kosher, vegan, non-GMO, soy free. No artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. This protein shake powder is great to mix with water or milk post workout or while you’re on the go through your busy day. This is great for the entire family including kids!”

Debbie and I love that it’s dairy-free (especially after learning about the industry). Debbie makes an amazing shake that tastes like ice cream using…

Frozen fruit (strawberries, blueberries, dark cherries [insert-your favorite here]) Almond or other nut or Soy milk, and either Flax or Chia seed. It is absolutely amazing with the chocolate. Rumor has it that the Vanilla is really good (Debbie’s daughter uses Vanailla one).

Let us know what you think.

I have just recently become a vegan since almost 9 months ago and its been a real struggle for me trying to find a good source of protein! I am down to give Orgain Protein Powder a try because you said how good it tasted and that it has a nice consistency! I am really big on taste & consistency because I really hate having to plug my nose and gulp down a disgusting “but healthy” smoothie. I am excited to give the chocolate flavor a try 🙂 thank you!

Hey Sophia, Debbie and I are Vegan for a year as of November. We have come to accept the fact that there’s
a massive amount of misinformation about protein (daily requirements, sources, etc.)

I follow several super athletes (people running over 100 miles at a time, super-triathlons, etc) and what I’ve
learned is that there’s no risk of dying or being unhealthy due to a lack of protein.

Debbie and I shared a recipe for a smoothie in the comments that’s like ice cream for us, using this powder-if you try it please let us know how you like it.

I never thought of Vegan protein powders and it looks like this one is a top choice.  I’ve gone on a vegan diet for a period of time before (for health reasons not animal ethics reasons) and it was hard to maintain.  Like you said there’s a lot of deceptive lingo in the food industry and with Vegan products its no different.

Eating a plant based diet usually makes me feel better …plus no fried foods or processed packaged food either.  I’m very skeptical of Non-GMO packaging generally ….I want to believe it but I don’t trust big food companies.  It sounds like this company takes that very serious though.

What would you mix this with? Water?  Coconut or Almond Milk?

    1. Eric Wheeler

Hey Tim, I agree with the food industry antics and not having to label and all of that. We have more and more gotten off of anything produced in ‘a facilty’ (packaged, boxed, canned). We still will eat out at a Vegan fast food
place like Plant Powered fast food in Cali, it’s just not very often.

We mix it with either Coconut or Almond milk and frozen fruit for a ice cream like treat.

Great Post. I am currently testing the benefits of a plant based diet on myself and I am really enjoying the results! I’ll be honest I don’t really miss red meat that much, and I never really was much of a fish eater but chicken was always my weakness. When your eyes are opened to the cruelty we subject these animals to it makes you wonder if it’s worth it.

If these animals can get what they need from plants then so can we and even more so considering that we are the smartest creatures on the planet (for now anyways). I think this protein powder is brilliant.if you are not getting sufficient protein from your diet this is especially great. I think people who are also hitting the gym hard need more protein for recovery so this would fit in perfectly for them.

I wonder how much healthier this is than animal protein? There are a lot of vital nutrients in animal proteins but a lot of not so good things as well. It would be interesting  to know.

    1. Eric Wheeler

Hey Renton, if you stick to a plant-based way of eating you’ll grow weary of the  ridiculous myth
about ‘enough protein’ Might I suggest a site called nutritionfacts.org for some peer-reviewed science
on the matter? I prefer facts over opinion when it comes to fueling my body.

Love your website and very informative.  I was very surprised to learn that vegetarian protein powders also could contain animal bi products.  I am definitely looking forward to seeing more recipes on here.  Your drop down menus make navigation of your site easy.  And all your content is clear and concise.  Awesome.

    1. Eric Wheeler

Thank you Paula, it looks like Debbie and I better get busy with more content about Vegan Health Essentials.

  6. Matthew

I have been thinking of going vegan for a while now as it’s supposed to be a much healthier lifestyle isn’t it but I have been worried about not getting enough protein in my diet.

I’m not completely knowledgeable about what foods I would be able to eat so I have been doing some research hence why I am on your site to see what the vegan diet entails.

I know you say you can get these plant-based protein powder capsules but is there any other way of getting protein on a vegan diet?

    1. Eric Wheeler

Hey Matthew, not getting enough protein is one of the biggest food industry myths perpetuated by
paid scientists and pseudo-science. I actually contract construction work from time to time and with
extremely physical work, myself and others have had no deficiencies of any kind.

Might I suggest a site called nutritionfacts.org for more information based on science not poorly
conducted research, biased “science”, and outright misinformation-I enjoy it.

Thanks for this post that reminds us that organic protein supply can be taken from organic vegetables so we would not be indulging from meat sources. The Orgain Organic Protein or any organic vegan supplement for sure is extracted from vegetables.

Reading this article poses the challenge to know what vegetables contain protein that can give us what we need for a healthy living.
